Coronavirus Update

Pastor Bunjee Garrett will be teaching a special message virtually this Sunday, March 22nd, on how Christians can respond to the Coronavirus.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update from Pastor Bunjee Garrett

Hey church family, I want to take this opportunity to provide you with an update regarding recent decisions that I made, regarding our fellowship of faith.

As you probably know already, the Centers For Disease Control recently encouraged our nation to help contain the Corona Virus with social distancing and self-quarantines. It was Monday the 16th – when President Trump encouraged us to avoid public gatherings larger than ten people.

It’s for this reason that we’ve decided to suspend our corporate services until May 1st and instead of meeting in person, we will be conducting church services online as we wait for further instructions.

Now, you know my heart, and you know my passion for the face to face fellowship of the church. Please trust me when I tell you that this is without debate, the most difficult decision I’ve ever made for our church. But after meeting with the deacons we believe its necessary, not only for the health of our church family, but also for the community at large for us to do our part in helping to slow the spread of this virus.

At the same time, our leadership team remains committed to the ministry that the Lord has given us.  And so, starting today we will be moving our services online.

As a matter of fact, we will be live streaming our mid-week service live online at 7pm.

Join us, Wednesday the 18th at 7pm, for a special message: Proper Pandemic Precautions. Simply go to our website – at calvarysouthaustin.com – and click on the live service banner.

Also, our leadership team will continue to monitor the situation and prayerfully consider any further recommendations. I ask that you keep me in prayer – as I attempt to lead our church through this difficult time. And let’s pray for our local and national leaders as they attempt to subdue this pandemic.

Finally, let’s pray for one another as we walk by faith with Jesus Christ.

I invite you to stay connected and up to date on what we are doing by following the daily updates, which will be released on our social media accounts and website.

I look forward to sharing more about the details of our decision on Wednesday the 18th at 7pm at calvarysouthaustin.com

We also encourage you to pray for the parts of the world that have been hit particularly hard by this virus, and that God would lead researchers to find a treatment for it as soon as possible.
Finally, let’s remember that we haven’t been called to live in fear, but rather to walk by faith with the Savior who is sovereignly seated upon His throne. Let’s seek the Lord in prayer, as we continue to worship Him together at our corporate services.
All for His glory,
Pastor Bunjee Garrett
