The Bible says we’ve all fallen short of God’s perfect standard of righteousness (Romans 3:23). What that means is that ALL of us don’t meet the righteous requirements to enter into Heaven. We’re all sinners, and God has to punish every sin. We’re all hell-bound because Hell is the place where God eternally punishes sins. BUT WAIT… there’s GOOD NEWS.
The Good News is that even though we sin God loved us so much, he sent Jesus to receive the punishment that we deserve so that we can receive the grace and forgiveness that we don’t deserve.
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, every sinner can repent and place their faith in Jesus Christ. The word repent simply means to change your mind. We repent when we change our mind about our good works getting us into Heaven. We repent when we start believing that it’s not what I can do to get into Heaven, but rather what Jesus has already done for me.
If you’ve never repented for your sins, please take time to do so right now. Agree with God that you have sinned against Him and receive by faith the free gift of salvation that Jesus purchased for you by the shedding of His blood on the cross. Then you will be accepted by God and Heaven bound.
